Kangaroo Island - Seal Bay

January 07, 2019

I can't believe I'm finally here! I wanted to visit Kangaroo Island for quite some time but since there is no public transport and I'm not used to driving on the left it is not the cheapest destination to visit.
For our first day we booked the 1Day Kangaroo Island Experience through Sealink and Seal Bay was our first stop. Seal Bay is a large sandy beach and dune area where Australian sea lions rest and nurse their young. Our tour had beach acces included under the guidance of a National Parks Ranger. I haven't seen so many sea lions all together. The colony is huge! You can get fairly close to the sea lions but you have to keep some distance, around 10m so the sea lions do not feel threatened by your presence. What an amazing experience!
