After visiting Fort Niagara we went back to Niagara Falls to enjoy the view there a bit longer. We ended our trip with a boat tour 'Maid of the Mist' that runs on the US side of the river. The boat tour takes you into the basin of Niagara Falls State Park’s Horseshoe Falls. There was no way to stay dry and it was a tough task to take decent pictures and keep the camera dry! Luckily we got a free souvenir blue rain poncho before we went on board. This spectacular 30 minutes boat ride is definitely one of the most memorable ways to experience the falls at a fair price.
